I started this farm because I was sick - and nobody could tell me why.

My agriculture degrees taught me to raise food the cheapest and fastest way possible. What they never taught me was how that impacts the people eating it.

In my 20s I was experiencing debilitating pain with no clear answer why. It wasn't until I started eating higher quality food that my body began to heal. That was the first time I truly understood that how an animal is raised and fed matters - not just to the animal, but to us.

When Jesse and I struggled to find the food I needed, we started raising it ourselves. What began as 50 chickens in the front yard now includes grass-finished beef, pasture-raised pork, and a farm that feeds hundreds of families each month too.

I started this farm for me. I keep going because this is the food I want for my kids and families like yours too.
