We often hear "I just don't feel good about buying meat at the grocery store anymore."

Maybe it was a health scare. 

Maybe it was standing in the grocery store reading a label and wondering if that pack of chicken was safe to feed your family. 

Maybe it was just realizing that the food system wasn't working the way it should, and that you wanted better for your family.

We hear some version of that story from almost every family who finds their way to our farm. And we understand it completely, because it's our story too.

I'm Dana. My agriculture degrees taught me to raise food the cheapest and fastest way possible, but what they never mentioned was how that impacts us when we eat it.

In my 20s I was experiencing debilitating pain with no clear answer why. It wasn't until I started eating higher quality food that my body began to heal. That was the first time I truly understood that how meat is raised and fed matters - not just to the animal, but to us.

When Jesse and I couldn't find the food I needed, we started raising it ourselves. 

What began as 50 chickens in the front yard for our own freezer now feeds hundreds of families each month. Our girls Eliza and Brynn are growing up eating this food. And now, so can your family.
